#WILDFundraiser Round Up - June 2023

Read about what our wonderful WILD Fundraisers have got up to this month!

It’s been a busy month with our Corporate WILD Fundraisers working hard to support our Pengelli Extension Appeal and new fundraisers getting creative to raise money for projects they are passionate about! Read about their fundraising journeys below.

Caws Teifi Cheese – halloumi helps wildlife at Teifi Marshes!

Our of our longest standing fundraisers, Caws Teifi Cheese, have donated over £700 this year with funds raised from their award-winning halloumi. The money they have raised will go towards protecting the iconic wildlife of Teifi Marshes, such as the kingfisher featured on their packaging.

Jenny McClelland, Sales and Marketing at Caws Teifi Cheese, said "Our company is named after the magnificent river Teifi that flows in the hills surrounding the farm and we want to support the Welsh Widlife Centre in Cilgerran for all the wonderful work it does in keeping this precious part of nature thriving."

Rowland Jepson – saving Red squirrels with his family history book!

Rowland's father was a big fan of red squirrels (and a vehement opponent of greys), so in his father's memory has written a family history book and has donated the funds raised from the sales of his book to support our Mid-Wales Red Squirrel Project. Thanks to the generosity of all friends and relations who purchased a copy of the book, he fundraised £500 to support the conservation of a species his father was so passionate about protecting.

Our Red Squirrel Officer Josie Bridges said, “The money raised by Rowland will go on to really help our struggling Red squirrel population. Donations make all the difference.”

LU Ceramics – preserving Pengelli with Preseli Clay!

Linda from LU Ceramics has been busy raising awareness and funds for our Pengelli Extension Appeal. Linda's tea bowls are made using Preseli clay, from the mountains neighbouring our Pengelli Forest Nature Reserve. Linda has raised £97 for our Pengelli Appeal, which will help us to secure the future of this amazing ancient woodland.

UNDER – saving trees one tee at a time!

Our most enthusiastic fundraisers, Harry and Dylan from UNDER, have been working hard to sell their ‘Save the Trees’ t-shirts to raise money to protect our Celtic Rainforest, Pengelli Forest. They have raised £33.75 and kindly decided to match their donation, brining their total to £67.50.

Harry said, "We wholeheartedly hope that our donation will make a meaningful difference in supporting the Trust's appeal and to think that 15 people are wearing our 'Save the Trees' t-shirts is a great feeling!"
