Discover the wonders of nature at the Welsh Wildlife Centre and Teifi Marshes Nature Reserve. With regular sightings of Kingfishers, Otters and wading birds, Teifi Marshes is home to some of the most wonderful flora and fauna in the UK.
There is a diversity of habitats to explore, activities to do and homecooked food to enjoy at our Glasshouse Café. Come along for a perfect day out in Pembrokeshire.
Entry to the Welsh Wildlife Centre and Teifi Marshes is FREE.
When is the Welsh Wildlife Centre open?
The Visitor Centre, including Glasshouse Cafe and Gift Shop, is open 5 days a week (Weds-Sun) from 10am-4pm. Lunch is served 12pm – 2:30pm.
What facilities are at the Welsh Wildlife Centre?
- The car park is FREE for members and residents living in the SA43 and SA37 postcode areas. Please bring proof of residency and fill in a short application form. Otherwise, parking is £5 for all day.
- Male, female and accessible toilets.
- A gift shop which supports our work.
- Display rooms with great exhibitions telling you about local wildlife. The display rooms are only available on weekends and during term times as the room is generally closed for activities during the school holidays.

Is the Welsh Wildlife Centre accessible?
The Welsh Wildlife Centre and Glasshouse Cafe are wheelchair accessible.
Accessible toilets are available at the Visitor Centre, along with baby-changing facilities. Our Wetland Trail from the Visitor Centre to Cardigan features four wheelchair accessible hides. There is an accessible picnic shelter with wheelchair-accessible picnic benches a short distance from the carpark.
We are working to improve accessibility and inclusivity at the Welsh Wildlife Centre and Teifi Marshes further.
How to get to the Welsh Wildlife Centre
By car: The Welsh Wildlife Centre is a short drive from Cardigan. Find directions on Google Maps.
By public transport: The 430 bus travels between Cardigan and Cilgerran and then there is a walk to the reserve and visitor centre. The 430 bus timetable will help you plan your journey.
By foot: It is possible to walk across the nature reserve from Cardigan (approximately 25 minutes walk from the centre of Cardigan).
How to book a school visit at the Welsh Wildlife Centre
We offer school visits to the Welsh Wildlife Centre for children of all ages and abilities. Our dedicated and expert staff can run events both indoor and outdoor to educate and inspire the next generation. The Glasshouse Café
The Glasshouse Café serves fresh, locally sourced food, from homemade cakes to hearty meals. Enjoy a meal or refreshments with stunning views looking across the Teifi Marshes Nature Reserve.
Open Wednesday – Sunday (10am–4pm). Lunch is served 12pm– 2:30 pm. Please be aware that the Glasshouse Café is closed Monday and Tuesdays, except Bank Holidays.

Our gift shop
Visit our gift shop for mementos of your visit, wildlife guides and activities to take home. The gift shop supports our work protecting wildlife across South and West Wales.

Dog walking
Only assistance dogs are allowed inside Welsh Wildlife Centre. We have a balcony outside for visitors with dogs who would like to use the café.
Please keep your dog on a lead to minimise distress and disturbance caused to wildlife. Always pick up your dog’s mess, for the safety of wildlife, our team and other visitors to the nature reserve. Do not allow your dog to swim open water. Be aware of grazing animals and be respectful to other visitors.

Our vision for the future
Supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund and the National Lottery Community Fund, we are working to improve the Welsh Wildlife Centre’s accessibility and inclusivity for visitors. Through this project, we are also working to offer greater opportunities for engagement with wider audiences.
