Film with us!
Lights, camera, action!
From prime-time UK documentaries, international feature films, professional photography, video filming, and TV dramas, our Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales Nature Reserves have been used as locations by a wide cross-section of media from around the world.
Complete our Filming Request Form to get started
The nature of requests vary widely and it would help us to process any initial location request by completing our Filming Request Form. If you have questions please get in touch with Grace Hunt, Communications Manager (g.hunt@welshwildlife.org).
We have guidelines designed to ensure that requests are treated fairly and consistently, and which provide checklists for allowing individuals or companies access to film on our land. The use of drones also requires permission.
Please note we have a media ban in place from 23rd May to June 30th 2026 on Skomer Island.
Location Fees
We have over 110 nature reserves across South and West Wales, featuring a variety of habitats and species. Location fees vary according to length of filming, reserve and the nature of the enterprise. Please see pricing guide below for terrestrial and island reserves.
Fees are exclusive of VAT, which is added onto the total. Additional fees for staff time, third party works assessments, towpath closures etc. may apply on top of location filming fees. All the income generated from filming activity goes to support our conservation work.
We can look to offer a reduced filming fee if an on air-credit is supplied e.g. "We're at The Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales’ Skomer Island Reserve today, filming X" or equivalent on-screen written credit.

Island Reserves: Skomer and Skokholm
Please note we have a media ban in place from 23rd May to June 30th 2026 on Skomer Island. Due to the fragile nature of these islands, a member of staff is required to accompany all media visits - but this comes with the benefit of access to some areas not accessible to the public as well as knowledge of wildlife and the best locations to film them.
