This half term, get out into the fresh air and explore the wildlife of Parc Slip with our family-friendly wildlife events
Restored from its previous status as an opencast coal mine, the beautiful 300 acre Parc Slip Nature Reserve is home to a fantastic mix of habitats including grassland, woodland and wetlands.
Come along and enjoy one of our nature inspired activities!
Clay Nature Prints: Wednesday 27th February, 11am – 1pm.
Learn about leaves and other natural objects we find at Parc Slip Nature Reserve. Join us for a gentle walk to find different textures in nature, and then try imprinting them into air-dry clay. This activity is suitable for ages 3+. £2 per child.

Wildlife Watch: Thursday 28th February & Sunday 2nd March, 10am – 12pm.
Wildlife Watch is the junior branch of the Wildlife Trusts, and the UK’s leading club for young environmentalists. Each month the group explores Parc Slip Nature Reserve to find out about the amazing wildlife there. Come along to take part in fun activities such as bird watching, nature art & crafts and bug hunting!
This activity is suitable for ages 5 to 12. Children must be accompanied by an adult throughout the event. £2 per child.

St. David’s Day Trail: Friday 1st March to Sunday 3rd March, Drop in 10:30am - 3pm
Celebrate St. David’s Day with a special quiz trail around the reserve. Follow the trail and answer the questions to be rewarded with a welsh cake and a drink*! £3 per person.
Suitable for children aged 5+. This is a self-guided trail requiring adult supervision.
*Drink is a choice of tea, Americano coffee or fruit juice carton.

A visit to Parc Slip is not complete without a trip to our Visitor Centre and coffee shop! Why not join us for a delicious home-cooked meal or slice of cake? We have many vegetarian and vegan options available too. The Visitor Centre is open from Tuesday to Sunday, 10am until 4pm.
