What’s on at the Welsh Wildlife Centre- including Sponsored Bike Ride

We have a lot happening at the Welsh Wildlife Centre including a sponsored bike ride in June -come along and support the Trust. Over the summer there are regular activities which will entertain you and the children.

Whitsun Holiday Events

Pond DipSun 25: Pond dipping: 11am, 12pm & 2pm: Cost £3 per child. Booking advised

Mon 26: Birds of Prey: 2pm: Please join Pant Glas Birds of Prey for a fascinating afternoon of both observation and handling of a variety of birds of prey including amazing owls, sparrow and harris hawks and more! Cost: £2.50 per child £4 per adult. Booking Advised

Tues 27: Woodland Creations: Enjoy making greenwood pencils & elderberry tribal wear. 2pm Cost: £5 per child.

Wed 28: Wildlife themed Arts N Crafts – 11am to 1pm & 2pm to 4pm: Cost £2.50 per child;

Thurs 29: Bush Craft – 3pm to 5pm: Enjoy building shelters and making fire by friction: Cost: £5 per person. Booking advised

June 8: Wild Orchids in the Nature Reserves of Wales – Orchid & Wildflower ID. 2pm-4pm. Course tutor: Sue Parker. Cost: £8 per person.

June 14: Sponsored Cycle Ride in Aid of The Wildlife Trust of South & West Wales & Sustrans Cymru. Please join us to for a cycle ride from the Centre along the National Cycle Route 82 to Cardigan and back (just under 4km). If you would like to help raise funds for both Charities then please contact Sharon Davies on 01239 621600 for a sponsorship form.

June 19: Bat Walk led by Nathan Walton, Wildlife Trust Officer for Pembrokeshire.  Also an opportunity to use bat detection equipment. 8.30pm. Cost: £2.50 per Child & £5 per adult.

June 4: Create your own Nature Reserve (a course for landowners). 9.30am- 4.30pm. Course tutor: Angie Polkey . Cost: £35 per person
June 29: Butterfly ID. 10am to 4pm. Course Tutors: Bob & Annie Haycock. Cost: £25 per person
July 5: Mini Habitats for the Wildlife Garden (3) Trees, Shrubs & Added Value Wildlife Extras 9.30am-4.30pm. Cost: £25 per person
July 12: Dragonfly & Damselfly ID. 10am to 4pm. Course Tutors: Claire Install (from British Dragonfly Society) & Allan Brandon. Cost £25
Aug 16/17: Intro to Bee Keeping (Day1) /Intro to Bee Keeping (Day 2). 9.30am to 4.30pm. Cost: £40 per person per day
