I chose to come to Cardigan Bay Marine Wildlife Centre for my work experience because I have a big interest in marine life and would like to work in marine biology/marine conservation when I am older. I thoroughly enjoyed every activity that I took part in, most of all the land watches. This involves sitting on the harbour wall and watching and recording any species that may be around. I was lucky enough to see a dolphin or two everyday, which I was very pleased about. I entered data from boat and land sightings into the database and I also helped in the visitor centre. The boat was another great experience, I was able to sit in the cabin and help fill in the survey forms. It was a great experience and we saw two dolphins and a seal.

I have learnt a lot during my short week at Cardigan Bay Marine Wildlife Centre and it has been a great work experience. A big thank you to everyone there for making me feel welcome and giving me such a great opportunity. I am sure I will be back next year to volunteer officially and I would recommend it to everyone but especially anyone with a specific interest in animals or marine life.
