New Bird Hides at Teifi Marshes!

We are pleased to announce that we have now raised enough funds through donations and grants to erect a new bird hide to replace the burnt down Kingfisher Hide.

This will be undertaken by Gilleard Brothers Ltd. in February 2022 and will also involve replacing the dilapidated Creek Hide as we have also secured funding to do this. The new structures will be timber clad yet proofed with a fire-retardant solution to reduce the impacts of attempted arson. The picture across gives you an idea of what these two new hides will look like.

We have also secured funding to replace the roundhouse ‘Otter’ hide that overlooks the marsh where the water buffalo roam. This is now slowly rotting away and is becoming unsafe. It will be replaced with a similar structure yet will all be in timber as opposed to clad in clay.

We thank those who have donated to this project and your patience in seeing anything happen. All being well the new hides will be open before Spring 2022.

The new bird hides at Teifi Marshes will follow this design.
