Capture ‘Welsh Wildlife’ on camera and win £350 of photography equipment.
This week the Welsh Wildlife Centre, Cilgerran is launching its annual wildlife photography competition with the theme of ‘Welsh Nature’, sponsored by Celtic Vision in Narberth. The lucky winner will walk away with £350 worth of photography equipment from the store.
With the theme ‘Welsh Nature’ photographers are encouraged to enter images that represent the beauty and diversity of Wales’s flora and fauna, whether as a landscape, seascape, wildlife or plant subject.
This annual competition attracts entries from all around the UK with last year’s winning image being a stunning Rook portrait by Robert Lawrence. Last year’s judge, professional wildlife photographer Richard Costin said, ‘the standard of this competition is very high and it was genuinely a task to pick the highly commended prints, let alone the top three!’
It costs £10 to enter up to three prints, with the proceeds going to the Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales. The deadline for entries is Friday 14 October and there will be a free open exhibition of the best 40 entries at the Welsh Wildlife Centre, Cilgerran during the week commencing Monday 24 October.
