New partnership opens across the Tivyside schools

The Darwin Centre and the Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales’ Welsh Wildlife Centre in Cilgerran have begun a new partnership using Darwin’s biological expertise and the Wildlife Centre’s fantastic resources. The Darwin Centre is able to provide their service for free due to their sponsorship by Dragon LNG, Waterston.

The sponsorship supports the Darwin Experience, a programme of exciting field trips with all schools in Pembrokeshire. The link up with the Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales will open access to the Darwin Experience programme to schools in Ceredigion and Carmarthenshire too.

Although the event is free, schools will be encouraged to make a donation to the Wildlife Centre, with all proceeds going to manage the outdoor education areas and develop the resources for schools.

Marten Lewis Manager of the Darwin Centre says ‘Linking up with the Wildlife Trust is an important step for us, we share the desire to engage with young people and to help them learn about the natural world in a fun way. Reaching young people across west Wales and enthusing them in the world around them is something we are passionate about.’
