Skomer Archaeology Walk 2025

Back again after a successful day in 2024, this is an exclusive opportunity to join Dr Toby Driver and Louise Barker, both senior archaeologists at the Royal Commission, Wales, on a guided archaeology tour of Skomer Island. The trip will visit the best preserved prehistoric roundhouses on the island and will visit Bronze Age burial cairns and standing stones.

About the event

This is an exclusive opportunity to join Dr Toby Driver and Louise Barker, both senior archaeologists at the Royal Commission, Wales, on a guided archaeology tour of Skomer Island. Louise and Toby have led several excavations on the island over the past decade. We will take a 2.5 hour walk taking in the best preserved prehistoric roundhouses on the island and will visit Bronze Age burial cairns and standing stones. This event is suitable for adults and children over 12yrs.

£15 per person (over 12s only) + plus standard boat landing price (£30).

What to bring

The event will go ahead in wet weather, please wear warm waterproof clothing and walking boots or shoes. Please bring a packed lunch and drink for the day. There are no food or drink provisions on the island. Sorry, no dogs on this trip.
