About the event

Our aim this summer is to make a major impact on the Himalayan balsam. This plant shades out other plants and results in a significant decline in plant diversity. By setting aside a number of sessions this summer we intend to clear as much as possible of the Balsam and thereby significantly reduce its dominance over future years. This summer's work will build on last years successful start to the programme. It’s easy to do and has an immediate and visible impact. Volunteering at some of these events, even if it is not for the whole two hours that we have set aside, will make a major difference to the Wild Gardens.

Meet at 10.30 am by the bridge on Wild Gardens Road. Please bring long-sleeved top & trousers, and appropriate footwear. Gloves will be provided, but feel free to bring your own.
