About the event

The first of two walks to find and identify dragonflies and damselflies, with Keith Noble, Breconshire Dragonfly Recorder, and Pauline Hill, People and Wildlife Officer, Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales.

Llangorse Lake is designated as a Dragonfly Hotspot.  We will look for adults and also for emerging nymphs and exuviae , (their empty cases).

Possible species include Variable, Common Blue and Red-eyed Damselflies, Hairy Dragonfly, Emperor, Broad-bodied and Four-spotted Chasers, Black-tailed Skimmer.

Wear suitable clothing and footwear for muddy fields and water's edge. Cameras and close-focusing binoculars would be useful.

The walk will be approximately 2 miles.  The terrain is mostly level but there will be mud and some uneven ground.  It is not surfaced.
