About the event

We welcome Dan Forman, retired Associate Professor of Wildlife Biology at Swansea University who will tell us about the history of citizen science (after all, the earliest scientists were just citizens) and he'll talk about the basics - going for a walk and spotting something you recognise.

He'll cover the many opportunities to get involved and tell us how to go about logging biological recordings with the Local Environmental Record Centres, Wales via the LERC app on mobile phones.

He'll also be revealing the chance to join an exciting future project gathering data which may help the Wildlife Trust.

"Empowerment gives us a voice about wildlife and it's fulfilling," says Dan.

You're welcome to join us from 7.15pm for a cuppa and biscuits. Cold drinks are also available. We request donations of a minimum £2 per adult towards event costs.

The hall is fully accessible with disabled parking nearby.

There'll be a follow-up nature ramble in Clyne Valley, Swansea on Saturday September 26th from 10 - 11.30am introducing people to practical biological recording and using the LERC app. Please book separately for that event.
