About the event

In Wales Nature Week come with us on a seashore safari with Emma Lowe and Winter Dotto to discover the amazing creatures hidden in low-tide rock pools and under seaweedy boulders at Bracelet Bay, near Mumbles, Swansea.

You could find crabs, starfish, anemones.... - and you know those sponges from your bath time? Well there are living sponges in the sea around Swansea!

Emma and Winter are both professional marine biologists and they'll show us how to explore pools and take a close look at some fantastic creatures without harming them. They'll also be able to tell you about the weird living things you'll  find.

Please wear waterproof, grippy shoes as wet rocks and pebbles are slippery and make sure you bring an adult - parents and grandparents will love it too.

This event is most suitable for anyone from aged 4.

All creatures will be carefully returned to the locations where they were found.

Everyone should dress according to the weather forecast on the day - sunscreen and hats if it's going to be hot and sunny - or waterproofs for showers.

If you've got them, bring white or see-through trays and hand lenses if you want to have a close look at your "finds."

MEET: on the pavement at the "lighthouse end" of the Bracelet Bay car park at the top of the path down to the beach. What3Words /// shift.searching.stone
