The British Trust for Ornithology and WTSWW have organised a joint Garden Wildlife Conference will be held on Saturday 22nd October 2011 in the prestigious Main Building at Cardiff University. To book please download Cardiff BTO/WTSWW conference booking form and return by 14th October 2011 to: Garden Ecology Team, BTO, The Nunnery, Thetford, Norfolk, IP24 2PUThe conference promises to be a vibrant occasion, with representatives from the BTO, WTSWW, Butterfly Conservation, the Bat Conservation Trust and Cardiff University all giving talks. Other wildlife organisations will also bring stands, so there will be plenty of people to meet.
There will be a BTO shop open for gifts and birdwatching materials. The conference will have a garden-focus, with exciting findings from local gardens revealed, but will also look beyond the garden gate with a talk from BTO staff about the proposed Severn Barrage and the implications this is likely to have for birds.
The conference is ticketed on a first come first served basis. Lunch is provided for delegates, as is morning and afternoon coffee and biscuits. To cover these catering costs and also the travel expenses for the speakers, tickets are priced at £12.50 per head. Details of payment can be found on the enclosed booking form. Parking is available at the venue and on nearby roads – please see the programme for more details. The venue is well-serviced by public transport with Cathays station nearby. The venue has disabled access.
