The Brecon Local Group had a talk scheduled about bees by the VC42 County Recorder for Bees, Janice Vincett.  A few weeks before Roz and Fran had noticed an article, 365 days of bees, in the RHS Garden magazine and were inspired to hold a plant stall providing plants that are loved by pollinators as a fundraiser at this event.  

They sourced many plants from their own and other members gardens.  They also contacted a local garden centre who provided plants on a sale or return basis.

The event was well attended, with nearly 40 people attending the plants were very popular.  They raised £49 for the group.

Buoyed by the success Roz wrote to the RHS, letting them know that their article inspired inspired the plant sale.  She was delighted to be contacted to say that the letter was to be published in the July magazine and a prize of a bundle of books will be sent.  The books will go on the prize table at the Quiz Night on 6th December.
