I would like to thank you for allowing me to come on work experience to your organisation. This week has given me a true insight into the work done by the volunteers at CBMWC and has also given me a good opportunity to experience this work. In some ways I am quite glad that it was misty one day and rainy on another because I felt this also gave me an insight into the varying weather in New Quay and a range of conditions that the volunteers work in.

Spending time in New Quay also allowed me to see just how much of a busy town it is and its popularity with tourists. I personally feel that the marine wildlife there is a great attraction and also a valuable asset to the town. I also enjoyed the range of different jobs that the volunteers all get to participate in such as manning the shop, surveying the wildlife from land, surveying the wildlife from the boat, entering data into the computers etc. Whilst on work experience with you the activity I enjoyed the most was the wildlife surveying from the pier. I enjoyed logging down the activity of things such as the weather and sea state, the boats in the area and also the wildlife seen. I’m glad to have seen plenty of wildlife such as the bottlenose dolphins, harbour porpoise and Atlantic grey seals and feel that this whole experience has been advantageous to my CV. Once again many thanks for having me for the week and I will certainly be back in the near future to see everyone.
