Glamorgan has around 35 nature reserves which we manage, including the large reserve of Parc Slip where our main offices are and the Gower reserves.
We have nature reserves on the doorstep of Cardiff, such as Coed y Bedw, Lavernock and Coed Llwyn Rhyddid, we also have reserves close to Swansea, including the spectacular Melincwrt Waterfalls and the fantastic suite of reserves necklacing the Gower. You can download a South Gower Reserves leaflet.
Because of the number of reserves and the large geographic spread we have two Wildlife Trust Officers in the area, Tim Jones manages the reserves in east Glamorgan, Cardiff and the Valleys and Paul Thornton manages the west of Glamorgan including the Gower.
We also work in Cardiff through a number of different projects, one current one being our Garden Wildlife Survey.
If you are thinking of taking your dog along with you to a nature reserve, please read and conform to our guidelines for dog walking on nature reserves. This will help us to keep the nature reserves a safe place for wildlife and people.
