Each year we recruit dedicated and passionate individuals to join our Living Seas team as seasonal volunteers. Based at our centre in New Quay, volunteers help us to collect vital research data on marine mammal populations and inspire the public through our visitor centre and community engagement events.
These positions are suited to those with a passion for marine wildlife/conservation who are looking to gain valuable work experience in the conservation sector.
Joining the Living Seas Volunteer Team is a fantastic opportunity for you to experience Wales’ amazing marine life and contribute to marine conservation. You’ll learn about the marine species of Cardigan Bay and gain experience in field work, processing data, environmental education and community engagement. Past volunteers have gone on to further education and to work for conservation/ government organisations.
We have a variety of volunteering opportunities available between March and November each year–
- Living Seas Volunteers – for set blocks lasting 5-9 weeks
- ShoreFin Volunteers – for set periods or full season
- SeaSeal Volunteer – for set periods or full season
