Based in Cardigan, the Group attracts members from neighbouring counties and enjoys a close relationship with the nearby Welsh Wildlife Centre at Cilgerran and has easy access to the natural splendours of the Teifi Marshes Reserve.
Well publicised indoor meetings, with guest speakers, are held on the evening of the first Wednesday of the month from September to April. Please refer to our current programme. They take place at the Roman Catholic Church Hall, Cardigan SA43 1LT at 7.30pm. (Doors open at 7 o’clock). Non-members, prospective members, holidaymakers and the simply curious are always welcome to attend. A £2.00 entrance fee covers light refreshments.
In addition to the income drawn from the above-mentioned admission charge and table-top sales, the Group raises funds from its yearly coffee mornings at the Cardigan Guildhall. These occasions also present an opportunity to promote the Trust’s work and values.
The South Ceredigion Group has a proud record of responding well to appeals for financial support made on behalf of particular wildlife concerns and the management needs of local reserves.
On 18 July 2012 the Group was sent a letter from Buckingham Palace expressing the Queen’s pleasure in our gift of an oak tree to Cardigan Town in honour of Her Majesty’s Diamond Jubilee. It may be seen beside the bandstand in the Netpool area.
There is a programme of nature walks and events at the Teifi Marshes throughout the year. In addition, during the summer months the group organises outings to other wildlife sites in west Wales and beyond.
If you are visiting any of the Ceredigion reserves please let us know what you see (please include grid reference and date). Vegetation tick lists are available in xls and xlsx formats. Please return to Em Foot
