Description

Join us for a Seashore Safari on the shore of New Quay, exploring the rock pools and examining the life they contain with knowledgeable staff and volunteers of the Cardigan Bay Marine Wildlife Centre.

Learn about the creatures living in the rock pools of West Wales, where they fit in their food webs and how they survive and adapt in such a dynamic environment in our Discovery Room with fun games and exercises such as making food chains, matching organisms to their environment and matching names to species, to get you warmed up ready to spot and identify animals in the field!

Then head out onto the shore to start exploring! Use our nets, trays, quadrats, magnifying glasses, ID guides and other equipment to really get involved with the creatures as closely as possible!

Return to the Discovery Room to discuss what you’ve found and spend some time trying to identify some of the trickier animals before returning them to their environment.

Cost

There is a charge of £2 per child for this event, all ages welcome but children must be accompanied by an adult.

Please ensure that you wear appropriate clothing, including waterproofs and warm layers as we will be outside for some time.
