10:00 AM - 12:00 PM
MEETING PLACE: The Coffee Shop, Parc Slip Wildlife Trust Visitor Centre
AGE GROUP: Not suitable for pushchairs
CLOTHING REQUIREMENTS: Sturdy footwear i.e. wellies as we will be walking through wet meadows. Weather appropriate clothing.
DESCRIPTION: Join us for the weekly survey of the reptiles and amphibians of Parc Slip Nature Reserve where we will be going out to survey the reptile refugia and other likely reptile habitats. You will be able to enter study areas of the reserve that are usually closed to the public.
Everyone welcome, no prior knowledge needed- just an interest in wildlife! As we hope to get up close to these amazing animals in their natural habitat, a camera is recommended.
WALK DESCRIPTION: The walk is approximately 3km long, with an optional shorter route (though this may result in seeing less animals). The walk is easy, mainly over flat ground, although it is rough in places. We will be walking at a slow pace as we will be keeping our eyes peeled for reptiles! Please note that this walk includes climbing of stiles and we will be out for about 2 hours so you are advised to bring water with you.
Please contact Rose, People and Wildlife Officer, for more information.
