Marsh Fritillary

Marsh Fritillary butterfly

The Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales have been working hard at Llanharan Marsh to restore the habitat so that it can once again provide a home for the beautiful Marsh Fritillary butterfly.  And we need your help!

Come along and volunteer with us to help manage your local nature reserve, make new friends, keep fit and learn new skills.

Meeting place: Meet at the Western entrance to the reserve, off Brynna Road, near the Naturally Woodlands houses.

Clothing Requirements: Sturdy and waterproof footwear (wellies or waterproof boots) and weather appropriate clothing that you don’t mind getting dirty. It is advisable to bring waterproof trousers as the marsh can be very muddy and boggy when it’s wet. Please bring lunch.

Equipment and biscuits provided!

Accessibility and Conditions: We will be working out in the marsh where the ground will be rough and boggy. Please be aware that the terrain is difficult to navigate and you must therefore be quite mobile to be able to access the marsh.

For more information about this event please contact Lorna by email or phone 01656 724100.
