Description: A one day course for those who have a keen interest in bee keeping and learning more about bees in general.

  • Welcome and Introduction

  •  Equipment  Required

  • The  Hive  –  Parts, Functions, Siting

  • The Bees  –  Castes and Jobs

  •  Preparing to approach the hive

    • Safety
    • Being properly prepared

 

  •  What to expect when you open the hive.

This is part 1 of a 2 day course on offer. Day 2 offers further advice and information for those who wish to deepen their knowledge and understanding and thus increasing competence in all areas of bee keeping.
