Description

fossilA meeting of the Cardiff Local Wildlife Trust Group.

Dr. Caroline Buttler who is Head of Palaeontology at the National Museum of Wales will describe how fossils have amazed and intrigued people since prehistoric times and a rich folklore developed to explain these mysterious objects. Snakestones, thunderbolts and fairy loaves were thought to have magical and medicinal properties until the true nature of fossils became accepted and folklore gave way to the science of palaeontology.
