Ystradfawr Nature Reserve
Join the Brecon Local Group on Ystradfawr Nature Reserve to look for Marsh Fritillary butterflies. This reserve is well known for this species. If the marsh fritillary butterflies are flying we will counting them for our records. However this is dependent on what kind on what kind of spring we have had and the weather on the day. The terrain in the field is difficult due to molinia tussocks.
The alternative activity will be to pull up Himalayan Balsam to prevent this invasive non-native species from spreading and encourage native species to flourish. We will be working away from the path on uneven ground.
Meet 10am at Ysgol Golwg Y Cwm car park, SA9 1SE.
