Join us to help stop bracken from swamping the wildflower meadows at Brynna! We will be controlling the bracken by hitting it to bruise the stem and trampling it to prevent further growth. This will help conserve the native floral diversity at Brynna.

Date: Wednesday 16th September 2015DSCN2365

Time: 10:30-12:30

Location: Brynna Woods and Llanharan Marshes Nature Reserve

Meeting Place: Carpark at the Brynna (Western) entrance to the reserve, off Brynna Road near the Naturally Woodlands houses.

Clothing Requirements: Sturdy and waterproof footwear and weather appropriate clothing that you don’t mind getting dirty. Feel free to bring a stick or tool of your choice to bruise the bracken.

Accessibility and Conditions: This event may involve some walking to reach the area of the reserve where we will be working. In some places the ground may be rough and boggy. We will be manually bashing the bracken so please be prepared for physical work. May involve some bending down to reach the plants.

Make sure to bring plenty of water and food to keep you going and please remember that unfortunately there are no toilets provided at the nature reserve.

Please contact Lorna by email or phone 01656 724100 if you would like to come along.
