Pwll Waun Cynon Nature Reserve
Come and learn about the fascinating world of bats, the UK’s only flying mammal. We will walk around the reserve at night and use bat detectors to find and identify the bats of Pwll Waun Cynon. This will be followed by a session looking at the moths we’ve caught in our light trap.
Meeting Place: Fernhill train station, near Mountain Ash.
Time: 9:30 – 11pm
Age Range: Age 7 and above.
Walk Description: The walk will be around the nature reserve so it will mainly be on flat ground, although it will be rough and sloping in places. We will be walking at a slow pace as we will be keeping our eyes and ears on the lookout for bats. Wellies or waterproof boots are advisable.
Requirements: Please bring a Torch if possible, and wear sturdy footwear and warm clothing.
Price: Suggested donation of £2. Your donation will help with the conservation work of the Wildlife Trust.
Booking: There will be limited places on this event so please book with Lorna by email or ring 07812 063444 to reserve your space.
Please note this event is weather dependent. In bad weather, please phone us or check our events page before you travel.
