Join our volunteers at Pwll Waun Cynon on Invasive Species Week to remove this damaging non-native weed.

Himalayan balsam is an invasive species that shades out native wildflowers and erodes riverbanks, as well as causing other issues for UK wildlife. Luckily it is easy to pull out, so come along and help us remove this invader, and keep Pwll Waun Cynon full of lovely native wildlife.

Time: 10am-2pm

Meeting Place: Fernhill train station, near Mountain Ash.

Clothing Requirements: We will be working outside so please wear weather appropriate clothing, sturdy waterproof shoes/wellies, and bring some lunch and water. Bring gloves if you have any.

Accessibility: We may have to work in areas of the nature reserve where there is thick vegetation and access is difficult. It recommended that you wear trousers and long sleeves to protect your skin.
