About the event
As cattle no longer graze on the Common the Trust has used machinery to scrape and dig to provide habitats for plants, amphibians and invertebrates. Butterflies and dragonflies will benefit from the new management regime along with amphibians. Additional plant species along with a growing population of insects will attract more birds and, in turn, more predators, both avian and ground based.
As the common can be damp and marshy in places we recommend sturdy waterproof footwear and clothing appropriate to the weather conditions on the day. There are no facilities on the Common.
