The Unknown Wales Conference, an event dedicated to the celebration of Welsh wildlife, is to be held again this year following on from the great success of previous years.
This event, run jointly by the Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales and the National Museum Wales has attracted over 200 delegates each year, all of whom have greatly enjoyed the talks covering a wide variety of wildlife topics from hares to lichens, and the celebrity speakers, who have included in the past Springwatch presenter Iolo Williams and star of Coast Miranda Krestovnikoff.
The talks this year will again cover a wide range of Welsh taxa, from fungi and seaweed, to arachnids and red squirrels.
This year’s Unknown Wales Conference will take place on Saturday 26th October 2013, from 10:00am to 4:00pm at the National Museum Wales. The conference is free for all to attend. Simply register your attendance by ringing 01656 724100 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org stating your name, phone number and number of places required.
Alongside the conference this year, we will also be running a photography competition, entitled ‘Conservation in Action’. We are looking for a photograph that shows an aspect of conservation work in Wales, which could be anything from litter picking to pond creation. Keep your eyes peeled for more details of this to come.
We look forward to seeing you at the conference this year!
