Skomer is an amazing island - but it couldn't run without our volunteers! We have short-term and long-term opportunities available, please see below for details.

With nearly 350,000 breeding pairs of Manx Shearwaters, over 41,500 Puffins, thousands of Guillemots, Razorbills and Kittiwakes and hundreds of Fulmars, Skomer is an internationally important seabird island.
It is also located less than a mile off the beautiful Pembrokeshire coast making it a great place to visit for the day or stay overnight.

Find out all about the wildlife and history of Skomer Island - one of the most important seabird sites in southern Britain with maritime grassland, lush inland vegetation, bubbling streams and man-made ponds supporting a host of wildlife including Atlantic Puffins, Manx Shearwaters, Guillemots, Razorbills, Skomer Voles and much more.

We support undergraduate and postgraduate students who are interested in carrying out a marine-based research project.

We are committed to making Skomer Island as inclusive as possible. We want as many people as possible to be able to experience the wonders of our wildlife-packed island.
