Mae Ymddiriedolaeth Natur De a Gorllewin Cymru yn trefnu cystadleuaeth farddoniaeth i ddathlu Diwrnod Barddoniaeth y Byd (21ain o Fawrth). Rydyn ni eisiau darllen popeth am yr hyn y mae natur yn ei olygu i chi, eich profiadau gyda natur, a pham mae natur yn bwysig. Mae croeso i geisiadau yn y Gymraeg ac yn Saesneg. Cyflwynwch eich cais i gael cyfle i ennill llyfr newydd Dan Rouse, 'The Children's Book of Birdwatching', yn ogystal â detholiad o lyfrau plant ysbrydoledig eraill. It’s no secret that the natural world is in trouble. Wildlife is disappearing at an alarming rate and the threat of climate catastrophe is a constant worry. There is a way to tackle both of these critical issues, but we have to act now. Time is running out.

Only a 20 minute boat trip from the mainland, Skomer is an excellent place for a daytime adventure. Bursting with seabirds including our Atlantic Puffins, Guillemots and Razorbills, this National Nature Reserve is one of Britain's most important seabird colonies. It is peaceful and wild at all times of year - there's so much to see and explore.

Please note, Puffins start arriving in mid-April. They are present from May-July. The first ones start leaving in mid-July and all Puffins are gone by the end of July. Please see our seasonal timeline below for what to see each month.

Surveys should be carried out by professional ecologists, registered with IEEM. When surveys involve protected species, such as bats, great crested newts or dormice, the surveyor should hold a license from Natural Resources Wales.

Planning permission is generally needed for any development. This means building, engineering, mining or other activity that makes changes to the use of land, or changes to existing buildings. There are exceptions that do not count as development, such as maintenance, changes to the interior of a building, agriculture, forestry and changes to gardens.
