It’s no secret that the natural world is in trouble. Wildlife is disappearing at an alarming rate and the threat of climate catastrophe is a constant worry. There is a way to tackle both of these critical issues, but we have to act now. Time is running out.

Larger and more complex developments are usually decided by the planning committee. Each local planning authority will have its own rules as to which applications will be decided by the planning committee (called the scheme of delegation). Surveys should be carried out by professional ecologists, registered with IEEM. When surveys involve protected species, such as bats, great crested newts or dormice, the surveyor should hold a license from Natural Resources Wales.
