Mark Spirito will lead us on an evening walk to a known nightjar site near the Ystradfellte.

Hopefully we will listen to the unusual churring call of the Nightjar, with the slim possibility of visually spotting one or two displaying. Nightjars are nocturnal summer visitors to the Uk. They favour heathland habitat also clear fell forestry areas. An old name for them is Goatsucker - all will be explained on the night.

Also we may see or hear Grasshopper warbler and possibly owls.

A torch is recommended, although we will not use them on the outward walk as this will ruin our night vision. They are mainly needed for returning to the car. Please note the late finish time.
