Yes - it's another exciting seashore adventure - this time with three expert marine biologists to identify and explain the wonders hidden in rock pools and under seaweedy boulders!
You might find crabs, starfish, anemones, sea sponges - even beautiful sea slugs. You might even find a creature never before recorded in the area. On one Safari someone found a Nut Crab!
Winter, Emma and Josella share a passion for marine life, science, ecology and education. Winter and Matt Green set up Marine Matters together to educate and inspire people about the amazing variety of sealife locally. More info at www.marinematters.net
This event is suitable for adults and children over 7 years old who must be accompanied by adults. Please be aware that the terrain is for the sure-footed only. Boulders and rocks will be wet and slippery and barnacles are sharp.
Waterproof, grippy footwear is essential. Please dress according to the weather forecast for the day. Please note that unfortunately this event is not suitable for anyone with mobility issues.
Bring along white or see-through trays and hand lenses if you want to have a very good look at your "finds!"
All creatures will be carefully returned to the location where they were found.
Parking is available at Knab Rock car park, near the Pier or in the Big Apple car park above (steps down to Pier). The Limeslade 2B bus drops off nearby.
Meet on the day on Mumbles Pier at the top of the steps down to the beach to check in. There'll be a short talk and briefing before we go off to explore.
We expect this event to be very popular so please book via this Eventbrite page and cancel your booking if you can't make it in order to free up a place for others.
We request a donation of at least £1 per adult to help cover WTSWW Swansea group costs.
