Our major project this month has been to move a bridge at Coed Maidie B Goddard that was being undermined and was next to quite a large oak tree that was also being undermined by a fairly unimpressive stream! We have moved it about 15m down stream. This also involved remaking the footpath, diverting it through the wood to the new position.
We spent a lovely day surrounded by beautiful bluebells at Old Warren Hill where we were mending steps and the path where a tree had fallen over in the storms and left a hole in it. The bluebells at this reserve are fantastic every year but seemed even more intense than usual this year.
Two not very spring-like days (windy, driving rain and cold) were spent on the exposed top of Coed Simdde Lwyd mending the fence and blocking holes where lambs and sheep have been escaping through into the wood.
Thank you very much to everyone who has helped this month. If you would like to volunteer with us in Ceredigion there are work parties twice a week out on the reserves, year round, contact Em on 07980932332 or email@example.com or to find out more about Ceredigion reserves visit: https://welshwildlife.org/locations/ceredigion/
