Hedgelaying and daffodils

It has been lovely to be out on the reserves in the drier weather this month. The sun has even been seen a few times. The snowdrops are in full bloom or going over, there are daffodils about and there is a definite feel that spring is on its way in the air.

A Coed Maidie B Goddard we’ve cleared 3 large patches of scrub from one of the meadows. We also cleared a large patch of dead and dying gorse and some brambles at Rhos Glyn Yr Helyg.

At Coed Simdde we finished the coupe started last month, this time in the sunshine. With space for the trees to fall in to it was easier this time. At Old Warren Hill we cleared a few more sycamores and a few other trees.

CCW volunteers joined us at Caeau Llety Cybi for another day of hedgelaying along the track. It is looking really good.

With the birds starting to nest we are coming to the end of our winter woodland and scrub clearing works.

Thank you very much to everyone who has helped this month. If you would like to volunteer with us in Ceredigion there are work parties twice a week out on the reserves, year round, contact Em on 07980932332 or e.foot@welshwildlife.org or to find out more about Ceredigion reserves visit: https://welshwildlife.org/locations/ceredigion/
