Survey Observations

Weather Conditions: Overcast, Wind Direction S/SE Sea State 1-2

Our Living Seas Volunteers carried out surveys throughout the day. Bottlenose dolphins were observed in all the landwatches yesterday, foraging around the cardinal buoy and travelling across the bay and around the headland. Towards the end of the last landwatch two mother and calf pairs came close to the harbour wall and were seen leaping and splashing at the surface. Through out the morning a number of Atlantic Grey Seals were seen scanning and swimming close to the harbour wall. One seal was spotted with a fish in its mouth! Other notable sightings include an oyster catcher and black-headed gulls (pictured).
