Land Based Sightings
June 27, 2018
Weather conditions: Sunny, Sea state 0-2, Wind direction: Variable
Our Living Seas volunteers conducted land-based surveys between 7am – 7pm yesterday, in what was the hottest day of the year so far. Bottlenose dolphins were sighted throughout the day, exhibiting behaviours such as foraging and leaping. Our volunteers, and members of the public alike, were also delighted to spot jellyfish being tossed by a group, including a calf, in the late morning. A lone Atlantic grey seal was also spotted, bottling in the bay.
