Surveys Conducted:

Survey Observations

Weather Conditions: Sun and showers moving to heavy rain, Wind direction NW-W, Sea state 3-4

Yesterday’s stormy conditions made for challenging land surveys for our LivingSeas volunteers, however both bottlenose dolphins and an Atlantic grey seal were spotted from the harbour wall. The seal was recorded swimming close to the survey point during the early morning watch, while dolphins were seen constantly from 9am-3pm, before land watches were called off for the day due to poor weather. Mostly foraging, a small number of individuals (including regular visitors Jacky and Jay) could often be seen near the harbour. The cetaceans could also be seen leaping and displaying tail slaps.
