Land Based Sightings
May 21, 2018
Weather conditions: Sunny/Fair, sea state: 1 – 2, wind direction variable
Land-based surveys were carried out by our Living Seas volunteers between 7am – 7pm yesterday, with, much to the delight of the public, bottlenose dolphins being spotted in five out of six of our surveys. Throughout the morning smaller groups were seen to be travelling and foraging off the headland, with one individual closely approaching the harbour wall; whilst in the late afternoon a larger group were observed leaping throughout the New Quay bay area. Atlantic grey seals were also sighted throughout the afternoon.
