Land Based Sightings
July 16, 2018
Weather conditions: overcast/rain, wind direction S to W to N, sea state 0-4
After a slow start, sightings picked up from the 11am survey, with lots of activity throughout the middle of the day and early afternoon. Our LivingSeas volunteers spotted two adults and a juvenile foraging around the cardinal buoy for two hours over lunchtime with bursts of leaping activity but they later travelled away past the headland. A group of four later appeared by the buoy but visibility soon decreased, making them difficult to spot.
