Our Living Seas volunteers observed bottlenose dolphins throughout the land surveys yesterday, with the most dolphins seen in the first and last surveys of the day. They were mainly observed foraging around the Cardinal Buoy and around the harbour wall. Dolphins were observed chasing fish on several occasions though out the day, with some seen leaping in the evening. One Atlantic grey seal was seen swimming in front of the harbour wall around lunch time. Other notable sightings include gannets, a turn stone, and guillemots and little gulls in their winter plumage.
