Land Based Sightings
June 19, 2018
Weather conditions: Overcast, Sea state 2-1, Wind direction: NW-SW
Many groups of dolphins were spotted by our Living Seas volunteers yesterday from the harbour wall. The calm waters allowed for fairly easy sightings. Approximately ten groups were seen during the morning watches and thirteen throughout the rest of the day. The animals were seen mostly foraging in the bay with a few potential instances of socializing through tail slaps, leaping, and regular surfacing. The dolphins travelled through most parts of the bay and even came up quite close to the harbour wall towards the end of the evening.
