Land Based Sightings
June 14, 2018
Weather Conditions: Sunny, Sea State: 3-4, Wind direction: Southwest
Groups of bottlenose dolphins were seen in New Quay Harbour yesterday throughout the entire day. Numerous groups were spotted milling and potentially foraging close to the harbour wall and around the cardinal buoy. One Atlantic Grey Seal was also spotted close to the headland. It was a sunny day and there was a high amount of Gannet and Manx Shearwater activity. Our Living Seas volunteers also saw a Great Skua! The water was choppy, with a sea state at 3 to 4, so no Dolphin Survey Boat Trips were able to run.
