30/07/2013 – Bottlenose dolphins

2hour survey, start time: 9:00
Weather conditions: Sunny – raining, sea state 1-2, wind S-SE
3 bottlenose dolphins

One bottlenose dolphin was spotted foraging near the harbour wall at the start of the survey.  Two more bottlenose dolphins (mother and calf) were spotted mingling south of the cardinal buoy.  The same individuals were spotted for most of survey, foraging and travelling west.

2hour survey, start time: 11:00
Weather conditions: Highly variable, sea state 1, wind N-NW
3 bottlenose dolphins

Three bottlenose dolphins, including one calf were spotted foraging, west of the cardinal buoy at the start of the survey.  The same individuals were spotted for the whole survey, foraging and travelling back and forth.

2hour survey, start time: 13:00
Weather conditions: Fair – sunny, sea state 1-2, wind S-SW
4 bottlenose dolphins

Two bottlenose dolphins (mother and calf) were spotted foraging near the harbour wall at the start of the survey.  After 30 minutes they were joined by a third bottlenose dolphin for 15 minutes.  The mother and calf stayed in the area for the rest of the survey.  Another bottlenose dolphin was spotted foraging at the end of the survey near the fish factory.

2hour survey, start time: 15:00
Weather conditions: Sunny, sea state 1-3, wind SE-SW
3 bottlenose dolphins

After 15 minutes two bottlenose dolphins were spotted foraging, north of the harbour wall.  After 45 minutes one of the bottlenose dolphins began travelling north.  At the end of the survey another bottlenose dolphin was spotted travelling North.
