2hr survey. Start time 07:00

2hr survey. Start time 9:00
Weather conditions: fair/sunny, sea state 3, wind direction E/NE
Fourteen bottlenose dolphin

The same dolphin as in the previous survey was seen again at the start of this survey continuing its travel eastwards. It was joined by two more individuals in two groups that were travelling northeast towards the cardinal marker. Shortly after, a group of three dolphins including a juvenile were seen by the cardinal marker taking long dives and foraging at depth. This group stayed for approximately half an hour. Next a group of two were spotted south of the cardinal marker, also foraging at depth. There were no more sightings until half an hour later where two individuals in two separate groups were both seen travelling northeast, with one of the individuals surfacing irregularly and searching for prey whilst on the move. At the end of the survey two further groups of dolphins were seen a few hundred metres north and south of the cardinal marker. Each group consisted of two dolphins, the northerly group including a juvenile. Both groups were thought to be foraging at depth.
