One Atlantic Grey Seal

Towards the end of the survey, a single Atlantic grey seal was sighted in the water off Dolau Beach.

One Atlantic grey seal and one bottlenose dolphin

A single Atlantic grey seal was seen off Dolau Beach at the beginning of the survey. One adult bottlenose dolphin was seen travelling south near New Quay harbour at the end of the survey.

Four bottlenose dolphins

A group of three bottlenose dolphins including a calf were seen close to New Quay harbour wall. A further dolphin joined them for a short time before travelling out towards the cardinal buoy to forage. The four dolphins were seen foraging and leaping throughout the survey.

Weather conditions: Fair/sunny/overcast, Sea state 1-3, wind SW-W.
Six bottlenose dolphins

Three bottlenose dolphins including a calf were sighted mingling and leaping close to New Quay harbour wall. A further three bottlenose dolphins joined the group and were seen foraging and leaping around the survey area for the remainder of the survey.

Seven bottlenose dolphins

Four bottlenose dolphins including a calf were seen mingling in front of the harbour wall. A further three dolphins joined the group by the cardinal buoy and were seen foraging there for most of the survey.

Four bottlenose dolphins

A single bottlenose dolphin was seen travelling west across the survey area. Another dolphin was seen travelling from the west and both dolphins began to swim towards the cardinal buoy. They remained at the cardinal buoy foraging for most of the survey. At the end of the survey, a mother and calf bottlenose dolphin was sighted travelling in front of the harbour wall.
