30/08/11: Bottlenose dolphins

2hr survey: Start time 9:00
Weather conditions: overcast/dull, sea state 3-4, wind NW

Throughout the first hour of the survey a mother and calf were seen to be foraging out near to the cardinal buoy. Later in the survey these were seen to travel north out into deeper waters.

Weather conditions: overcast/dull, sea state 2-3, wind W

Mother and calf were seen foraging at depth out near to the fish factory at the beginning survey, they then later moved out to the cardinal buoy where they continued to forage.

2 hr survey: Start time 13:00
Weather conditions: overcast/dull, sea state 2-3, wind NW becoming N

Two bottlenose dolphins were seen out by the cardinal buoy thought to be foraging at depth. They disappeared after the first half of the survey.

Weather conditions: overcast/dull becoming fair, se state 2, wind NNW becoming N

Bottlenose dolphin mother and calf were seen foraging out by the cardinal buoy, a third adult bottlenose dolphin seen travelling east from the fish factory across the bay. They then combined into a group of three and were seen mingling at the surface.
